Māori Education Trust


WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Any Māori student who is attending secondary school, aged 15-17 at the time of application and meets the AFS and Māori Education Trust application guidelines.
  • The Māori Education Trust has total responsibility for the selection of the scholarship recipients.

Kia ora koe mo to takoha!

  • Historically, an average of ten partial scholarships to the value of $1,500 are provided for any country offered by AFS NZ by the Māori Education Trust.
  • The Māori Education Trust has been working in partnership with AFS NZ since 1989 and in this time has sponsored over 170 students to take up the challenge to live and study overseas for one year.
  • “I’ve learned a lot of new skills which I’ll be able to use throughout my life, skills like independence, self-sufficiency and perseverance. A lot of this may not have been possible if it wasn’t for the Māori Education Trust.”
